Academic preparation is the foundation of the professional success of Dr. Scott Overholser. Backed by solid educational credentials and rigorous training from the Indiana University School of Dentistry which granted him his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1996, the academically-inclined dentist completed a triple bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Psychology and Biology in the same university in 1992. His membership in the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society and Chicago Dental Society continuously enhances this academic foundation.

But what makes Dr. Scott Overholser a cut above the rest is his excellent people skills which elicits his patients’ trust. He is known to be patient, and is described as someone who does not make his appointments with his patients a hurried affair. Dr. Scott Overholser handled seven full-time employees, spearheaded marketing strategies to expand his clientele and boost revenue, formulated measures to ensure systematic inventory management, and devised means to guarantee his clinic’s smooth operation for the years he served as its owner and managing dentist. He eventually closed his clinic to join the Chicago-based real estate consulting firm – Garrison Partners Consulting. This was followed by one year of employment at Renaissant Development Group where he served as Director of Sales.

With his passion for dentistry never waning, Dr. Scott Overholser returned to his original profession and joined Park West Dental Associates as a solo practitioner in its satellite office in Lincoln Park in Chicago. Currently, he works as an associate dentist at The Dental Salon where he performs all aspects of general dentistry.

On a level closer to home, Dr Scott Overholser DDS is a member of the Illinois State Dental Society.  This is a state-wide organization whose main goal is to offer better dental care to Illinois residents.  Through the ISDA, Dr. Overholser has volunteered in helping uninsured residents receive dental care they needed.

And even a little closer to home, Dr Scott Overholser DDS is a member of the Chicago Dental Society.  Through this organization, he yearly attends and volunteers at the Chicago Mid-Winter Dental Meeting held every February at McCormick Place to help educate and train over 30,000 dental professionals.
